We’re partnering with a well-established not-for-profit organisation seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a 9–12 month maternity leave contract. Working alongside a collaborative team of around 12 finance professionals, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate month-end reporting, reconciliations and financial analysis across the business.

This position is best suited to someone who enjoys working with large volumes of financial data, has exceptional reconciliation skills and can confidently explain financial results and variances to a range of stakeholders.

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing end-of-month (EOM) reporting activities.
• Performing complex balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
• Reconciling large volumes of financial data with a high level of accuracy.
• Investigating and clearly explaining financial variances.
• Preparing monthly financial reports and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
• Supporting audits and statutory reporting requirements.
• Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting.
• Working closely with operational stakeholders across the organisation.

About You

To be successful, you’ll demonstrate:

• Proven experience as an experienced and qualified Financial Accountant.
• Strong end-of-month reporting experience.
• Excellent reconciliation skills, particularly across high-volume financial data.
• The ability to analyse financial information and communicate findings clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP systems.
• CPA or CA qualified (or working towards) is highly regarded.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is advantageous.
• Previous experience within the not-for-profit sector will be viewed favourably
